While I’m eager to share my tips for budget travel, my philosophy around saving money constantly evolves the more I learn about tourism’s impact on international communities. Some of the travel hacks I’ve used in the past no longer feel appropriate to leverage, but I leave it up to you to decide what your limits are and where they fall beside your financial capacities (and all the other categories on the messy spectrum of privilege). Point being: You do you. Just don’t encroach on anyone else’s ability to do so in the process.
